Album Description (English):  

Ivano Icardi (electric guitar) and Davide Liberti (double bass) present Face to Face, an album featuring ten tracks — nine original compositions and a personal reinterpretation of Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper and Rob Hyman.

Born from a deep musical and human connection, the project takes shape through a continuous dialogue between two instruments capable of moving fluidly between composition, improvisation, and timbral exploration. The album travels across diverse sonic territories: cinematic, evocative, and descriptive moments coexist with more dynamic, tense, and frenetic passages, always maintaining a strong narrative identity.

Although rooted in modern jazz, Face to Face escapes the more traditional definitions of the genre. Its atmospheres often recall the language of contemporary film scores, while preserving a timbral and melodic sensitivity reminiscent of Bill Frisell and certain strands of modern European jazz.

It is a project that resists precise categorization: contemporary jazz, open music, cinematic jazz, or modern improvised music are all possible labels, yet none fully capture its identity. At the center remains the music itself — two musicians with strong technical and virtuosic backgrounds who choose to place their language entirely at the service of expressiveness, sound, and interplay.
